In case you are trying to go online with Call of Duty: Black Ops today but unable to do so, chances are you might be thinking that its servers are down. Well, we’re here to tell you that your hunch was correct! As Treyarch’s JD_2020 (Josh Olin) tweeted that Black Ops server is currently experiencing some “temporary difficulties” making the connection difficult, setting the datacenter into a “maintenance window”.

Likewise, this only affects PS3, PC and Wii players putting the greenlight on Xbox 360 gamers.
Meanwhile, if you’ll check the twittersphere, you can see the amount of annoyed users seeing Black Ops Online going down again after the PSN Apocalypse that happened roughly two months ago. In addition to that, some players are getting too anxious and formulating reasons this downtime might be correlated with the recent hack attacks promulgated before by Anonymous and LulzSec.
At this point, Treyarch still haven’t gave any reasons why there’s a need for this immediate downtime. Usually, if the team is doing a maintenance, it will be announced first before the downtime. Just so you know, North America, Europe including Asia are all affected on this outage, except of course for Xbox 360 players.
